Selena Gomez - an international actress and performer - is known as a household name. She's been a part of many projects, but her involvement in the Disney Series Wizards of Waverly Place has had the greatest success. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. Her full name is Selena Marie. Amanda Cornett & Ricardo Gomez. Her mother was only sixteen at the time Selena was born. At the age of 9, the actress got her first gig as a showgirl when she got the role of Gianna in Barney and her Friends. She was among numerous children who played alongside Barney, the well-known Pink Dinosaur, an anthropomorphic dinosaur. Selena played a role in many episodes of seasons 7 and 8 in the period 2001-2003. As a fun fact: Selena is not the only singer who worked in Barney and his Friends during this period; Demi Lovato was also part of the team that starred in the series. Selena Gomez tried out for many roles after leaving Barney and Friends however, she failed. Her role was only a tiny one in the 2003 movie Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over) and another like Julie on Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire. Also, she was offered the part in the role of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2005 Brain Zapped program for which she composed a tune.
