Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small town situated on the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. A lot of people who aren't aware of the name mistakenly believe that they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact the West Island includes everything westward of Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often mentioned, but her brief visit to the West Island did not last long. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. She aspired to be a professional dancer, but due to a rapid increase in her height, she outgrew the dance partners she had. In an article published in the Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. Once I was bigger than the size of my male companion and stopped dancing, I quit. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In the case of Brugel it was because of the advice of her drama teacher in high school who pushed her to the path she needed. It was the teacher who recommended she take on a part in the school's annual production. She auditioned and eventually got the role of the main character for the role in Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000 she graduated with a BA in Fine Arts at York University. Over the past 20 years since Brugel has landed roles on over 60 shows on the big and small screens. She attracted the most attention when she landed the role as Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel made an appearance on only a handful of moments in the very first season of The Handmaid's Tale. She was the sole Canadian participant.
